News from Elicit: Screening quotes and exclusion reasons

New from Elicit

Hey there,
We’re continuing to make Systematic Reviews in Elicit more transparent and PRISMA-compliant.

Two updates to screening help you document why each paper was included or excluded, along with the evidence to back it up.

Try them out in an Elicit Systematic Review today or read on for details.
Exclusion reasons

Every excluded paper now shows a specific reason for exclusion, auto-assigned based on which strict criterion failed first (in PICO order). You can override the reason for any paper.

The PRISMA flow diagram in the final report (in the Methods section) automatically includes counts per exclusion reason, so you don’t need to reconstruct that in a spreadsheet.
Source quotes in screening

For each screening criterion on a paper, Elicit now shows the passage from the paper that supports the answer. Click into any paper’s screening results and you’ll see the relevant quote for each criterion. You can verify decisions in-line without having to read the whole paper.
To use these features, toggle on strict criteria for any screening column in your Systematic Review. Exclusion reasons and source quotes will appear automatically.
Our goal is to make every stage of research on Elicit systematic and transparent. Try these out and let us know if you have feedback.
