Data plakken in Excel voor Mac

V. Als ik data plak van een Excel voor Mac in een Excel bestand op een Windows toestel, verschuiven die 4 jaar. Wat kan ik daar aan doen?

A. Eerst een woordje uitleg: Excel voor Mac neemt 1904 als basis, Excel voor Windows 1900. Data worden gedefinieerd als het aantal dagen dat verlopen is sinds 1 januari van die respectieve jaren – een verschil van 1461 dagen.

De oplossing? zet Excel even in 1904 modus. Options, Advanced, Us the 1904 system.

OneNote op Android

V. Ik gebruik graag OneNote, maar mijn Android smartphone kan daar niet mee werken. Of wel?

Een alternatief is Evernote, dat gratis is en dat je op je PC kan installeren naast OneNote. Het is een alternatief, geen synchronisatietool.

Skydrive op Android

V. Op de Skydrive website zie ik een aankondiging voor het downloaden van toepassingen voor mobiele devices – maar Android staat daar niet bij. Gaat dat dan niet op Android?

A. Jawel, er is een Skydrive app voor Android – zie https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bolero.skydrivebrowser&hl=nl. Maar dat is een app voor je smartphone en dus niet voor installatie op je PC.

FLV Player update installeert rommel

FLV Player kondigt aan dat er een update is.

Normaal is dat een goed idee om software te updaten, omdat daarmee de laatste oplossingen van bekende veiligheidsrisico’s worden binnengehaald. Echter: FLV player haalt allerlei rommel binnen, en zet bv. Babylon als standaardpagina en als standaardzoekmachine in in Internet Explorer.

Wat kan je doen?

Na de installatie van deze update (of van andere updates van andere software die iets gelijkaardig doet) controleren welke rommel er geïnstalleerd is, en die verwijderen

Voor het opruimen raden we aan:

Om in het Configuratiescherm te kijken welke software er laatst geïnstalleerd is – daar staat die rommel tussen
Om in Internet Explorer te kijken welke add-ons geïnstalleerd zijn, en eventuele uit te schakelen (Extra, Internetopties, Programma’s)
Om in Internet Explorer te kijken welke de zoekmachine is, en eventueel bij te stellen.
Om in Internet Explorer te kijken welke de startpagina is, en eventueel bij te stellen

Niet gewenst? Weet dan dat die bijkomende software de ‘prijs’ is die je betaalt voor die software. Meestal is dat de manier waarop de auteur aan zijn geld geraakt. Als je die prijs niet wil betalen doe je dat zoals steeds wanneer de prijs te hoog is, bv. voor een brood of een auto: gewoon niet kopen.

Google calendar in Windows Live Mail

V. Kan ik mijn Google calendar tonen in Windows Live Mail?

A. Ja, tonen wel.

In Google calendar klik op je kalender, agenda-instellingen. Privé-adres: ICAL. Kopieer het adres van deze ICS.
Ga naar Live calendar. Log in. Klik op “Nieuwe agenda rtoevoegen”. Plak het adres van het ICS bestand. Bevestig en wacht.
Start Windows Live Mail op en wacht even. Geniet van het resultaat!

Voor het kunnen bewerken in Windows Live Mail heb ik te weinig gegevens.
