V. Mijn HTC Sync vertikt het om de foto’s over te zetten op mijn PC. Wat kan ik doen?

A. Vooreerst dit: er lijken me zeer ernstige problemen te zijn met HTC Sync. Sinds 15.12 (de laatste update van HTC Sync??) zie ik massa’s meldingen van mensen die de foutmelding “Koppelen/ontkoppelen van geheugenkaart in het toestel is mislukt” krijgen – zonder enige mogelijkheid tot oplossing.

Op je mobiele toestel, Settings, Connect to PC, Default connection type, Disk drive. Sluit je smartphone opnieuw aan aan je PC – en Windows zal hem herkennen als externe schijf. Zoek naar de map DCIM\100MEDIA.

Als je wil, kan je dat doen op een andere computer. Maar je zal HTC Sync moeten installeren om de smartphone te kunnen laten mounten als externe schijf.

Dit alles in afwachting van een echte oplossing door HTC. Ik zet ze in afwachting bij op het lijstje van fabrikanten van niet/nooit-werkende software, naast de kampioenen aller tijden Norton en Adobe.

V. Ik heb een vreemde stem in mijn browser zitten die instructies geeft over een en ander. Hoe kan ik in stilte browsen?

A. Desinstaleer Google Toolbar, dan zal die stem weggaan.
